In July we had news that Steve’s recent album Devotion was nominated for a Western Canadian music award in the category of Best Contemporary Christian Album, and that his concert DVD Steve Bell in Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra received the Best Music Video award at the recent Crown Award Ceremonies in Colorado.

In August we have been notified that Steve Bell has been nominated for the following GMA Awards (Gospel Music Association of Canada):

Folk/Roots Song of the Year – The Lorica/Steve Bell – (music/lyrics Gayle Salmond)

Inspirational Album of the Year – Devotion/Steve Bell

Jazz/Blues Song of the Year – Embrace the Mystery/Steve Bell (music/lyrics Gord Johnson)

CD/DVD Artwork Design of the Year – Devotion/Steve Bell (Artwork Tim Plett/Dawntreader Photography)

Album of the Year – Devotion/Steve Bell

Recorded Song of the Year – Praise the Father/Steve Bell

Steve is very grateful to be nominated. Thank you to all who have been listening to his music!

  • What they’re saying

Steve Bell’s music offers an astonishing combination of familiar and fresh, provocative and comforting, exuberant and reflective, salty and sweet. Immediately attractive, it rewards repeated listening:the genuine beauty on the surface gives away to treasures in the depths.
