Symphony Sessions
Making a career out of being a Canadian singer/songwriter is a challenge, so it feels especially good when someone hands you a gift that makes it a bit easier.
In early 2006, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra called Steve Bell and suggested doing a concert together. Later that same year on November 17th, the world premiere of Symphony Sessions was offered to an ecstatic, sold-out audience at the Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg. Before that evening was over, a series of future Christmas concerts had been discussed. Those concerts were offered to the Winnipeg and Manitoba audiences the following year, once again selling out and garnering excellent reviews.
Subsequent to those events, Steve has recorded a full length, award winning symphony album (Symphony Sessions), performed 22 concerts with symphonies across Canada, and is now engaged in deliberate steps that will introduce these amazing concerts to the larger audience in the U.S.
Both the album and the concerts seem to consistently offer a uniquely moving musical and spiritual experience. They evoke wonder, awe, celebration and peace, and touch listeners deeply. As grateful fans across North America can testify, the initial gift proffered by the WSO has become one that just keeps on giving.
