The 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards wrapped up Sunday night (Sept. 20th) in Brandon, as dozens of artists took home prestigious pieces of hardware.
Of the many of our Signpost comrades who were nominated for the awards, we are soooooo pleased to announce…..drum roll please……the winner for Contemporary Christian Gospel Recording of the Year is our very own Steve Bell for his album Devotion!! Steve was away on tour during the awards, so he was unfortunately unable to attend.
This is Steve’s second WCMA. Last year he won for Symphony Sessions.
Also Steve’s friend and bandmate Daniel Roa won an award for Francophone Recording of the Year. You may remember Daniel as the drummer for Steve’s Symphony Sessions concerts, album and DVD.

Finally, congratulations to Steve’s brother-in-law Vince Fontaine for his band Eagle and Hawk‘s Aboriginal Recording of the year.
