Jesus My Glory   – Music and Lyric by Steve Bell
adapted from Psalm 3 / Anglo-Genevan Psalter

Oh Lord how quickly grows
The number of my foes
Who wantonly oppress me
And multiplied are they
That rise to my dismay
And day by day distress me
Though heavy my despair
They scornfully declare
To my humiliation
That You oh God no more
Can help me as before
Or come to my salvation

But Lord You always are
A shield about my heart
A warrior fierce and free
Surrounding me
In the hour of my dread
You lift my weary head
All trembling subsides
And I cry
Jesus my glory
So I lay down and slept
In peace for I am kept
By His divine protection
The Lord is at my side
My safety He supplies
Whatever my affliction
Defended by His hand
I shall undaunted stand
While thousands press upon me
Though furious foemen wage
Their war with mighty rage
Yet none can ere defeat me

But Lord You always are
A shield about my heart
A warrior fierce and free
Surrounding me
In the hour of my dread
You lift my weary head
All trembling subsides
And I cry
Jesus my glory
So I lay down and slept
In peace for I am kept
By His divine protection
The Lord is at my side
My safety He supplies
Whatever my affliction
Defended by His hand
I shall undaunted stand
While thousands press upon me
Though furious foemen wage
Their war with mighty rage
Yet none can ere defeat me
