Storehouse

Welcome to the Storehouse!

During this season of isolation, I’m happy to make music resources available to any and all who are developing online gatherings for Christian worship or otherwise (worship services, small groups, study groups, etc.)

Individuals may also use and share these as they wish as well. Perhaps you have a family member or friend who is shut-in or could use an encouragement… feel free to share.

I’m just getting this page going so the selection below is small, but I’ll be adding more songs each week and so please come back to see what’s new. You can quickly find what you are looking for by category: worship, prayer, scripture songs, devotional, blessing.

Although payment is not required for use of the songs as stated above, if you or your community would like to help with my expenses, you can make a donation for a tax receipt at: www.stevebell.com/support.

Or…. you could buy me a coffee 🙂

Words and music to the songs below were written by me unless otherwise stated.

Please let me know if you are using these resources… that way we know if our efforts are meeting a need. Send a quick note to office@signpostmusic.com, or use the comment feature below.

  1. Just listened to Episode 2 of the vault and learned of the storehouse. Wonderful idea. We recently.moved from Alberta to Nova Scotia where they haven’t heard of Steve’s music. This is an great resource that I will share with our church. Thank you!

  2. Tania – some of us in Nova Scotia are very familiar with Steve’s music and have followed him for years. I have been richly blessed by the Steve’s “Live from the Vault” sessions on Fridays. I appreciate his humbleness and authenticity and the depth of the lyrics of his songs.

  3. Thank you for this gift! We played the lyric video of Shepherd of Life in our service yesterday and it was very effective.

  4. Hi Steve,

Long time no hear from; ironically, I’ve picked up your songs/recordings again after a while and wondered how you were doing. If you don’t remember me, I was Director of Worship in Durango, CO when you came down to do a gig for our church. I’ve been teaching at a Christian university in Ohio for some time and am in SoCal, on my sabbatical for the next year. Then? Who knows?

Anyway, I hope things are well. I’m still arranging and writing, mostly for film and jazz and some concert orchestra music. I did a bluegrass album some years ago with my friends in Durango so enjoy integrating. I’ve been working with guitarist Phil Keaggy on a few projects as well. If you’re ever interested in collaborating or need an arranger on a project, let me know. I’ve always enjoyed your style and thought it would be fun to work with you on something. If you are curious, write back and I’ll give you my Soundcloud links.

    Best regards,

    Jack Ballard

  5. Hi Steve,

I have recently found “He Who Watches Over You..” very, very meaningful.
Could you sing that on Friday? Also, how could I acquire the guitar chords/music to use it in a worship service at my church in Winnipeg?

    Blessings always
    Carole

  6. Hi Steve,

Thanks for making your music available. We used the Shepherd of Life song as our Midweek Meditation piece for Royal City Mission this week. It tied in very well with our teaching from the 23rd Psalm this past Sunday.

  7. Thank you for making these resources available during this time. We are using some songs as pre-service music while people come online for the live stream of our worship at Prairie Presbyterian here in Winnipeg.

  8. Hi Steve,
Thanks so much for this. We’ve published the link on our Facebook page, so that people can listen as part of private meditation. Also, on May 31, we’re going to use ‘Holy Lord’, as our closing song for the Festival of Pentecost. Normally that is a Sunday that our Band plays, and this is one they have often played. Coffee money coming!

  9. We have used three of your songs in our services so far. It adds such an element of life to online “church” in these strange times. We really appreciate your generosity. Thank you.

  10. Steve, Thank-you for your ministry through song. As we are walking through this time of Covid, your songs bring peace to our church’s time together virtually. I have used a number of the as a wind-down meditation time at the end of the service.

They are a powerful blessing to us as we prepare to leave our time together.

    Thank-you

  11. Hi Steve, I just want to thank you for your many years of blessing. From early days when I came to Winnipeg for an Anglican youth event (late 80’s- your early-ish days “Comfort My People”) , then through every phase of my life since. And now the Covid phase. My husband and I have had a year- like many- we are both clergy, and he was called to become the Dean of the Cathedral in Vancouver essentially notified as the shut down in mid march. He has taken on that with anticipated cover challenges while I have remained in Edmonton- I am a physician too, currently working hospital care and hospice. Our children remain here with me, as they too had/have lives deeply embedded here. In years past, we would go on a ‘date night’ to your concerts in the Edmonton area- one was in my parish in Spruce Grove, others in various local churches. So Christmas day this year we had ‘date night’ via Facetime and watched the “Hunkered Down” concert together, and tonight- New Year’s Day- we did the same with your 60th Birthday concert. If there was ever gift in collections of words, this would be it for me. I have always appreciated your ‘gift of the gab’ (as my dad would put it) and as I have no innate word creativity, I have come to love and appreciate it in others. Tonight the words of “A Heartbeat Away” “Because We Hunkered Down” and “Strange Blessing” brought me to tears with their wisdom, and most certainly will become a most fitting prayer as I (we) move forward in 2021. Thank you so very much. And should you ever need museum content, I have all those original cassettes, CD’s and even book project drafts. Not a crazed groupie, really, but my collection is just a testament to the many decades that your music has been gift and prayer to me. I could go on and on… (I could send a whole other email about how much I miss hearing the youngest members of my tiny congregation belt out “Holy Holy” as I (we) celebrate the Eucharist- but havent been able to do since early 2020) But suffice it to say, you and your team have been sustenance for me- and I thank God so very much for this reality. I pray every blessing upon you in the year ahead, and look forward to many more “date nights” over FaceTime- at least until the strange blessings of the Covid pandemic become a memory and we can join you at some live concert venue… be it in Vancouver or Edmonton.

  12. Hi Steve:

I followed the link on Malcom Guite’s blog and found Epiphany on the Jordan. It would be an awesome reflection song for my recorded worship service for Baptism of Jesus Sunday. I notice it is not here in the Storehouse, how do I obtain permission to use the song?

Thank you for your wonderful work.

  13. No need to ask – all churches have permission to use Steve’s work – especially during the pandemic. From Faye Hall
