House of Peace  – Music and Lyric by Jim Croegaert
1974 Rough Stones Music / 827 Monroe St. / Evanston Il 60202

You have brought us so very far
In so short a time
In spite of our weaknesses
In spite of all our crying

You are worthy of everything
Every word of praise
Every song that we’ll ever sing
Fountain of all grace

Our High Priest
Make us a house of peace

Like the sun on a mountain top
A city on a hill
Like a river that never stops
Let our love reveal…

In the cold of the winter’s night
In the summer’s day
In the changes we often fight
Let us learn to say…

House of Peace… My husband and I were taught this song at a Mennonite church retreat in Texas back in 1985. The song still resonates in my soul. I am thankful to find the words. Do you have a recorded version?

Reply from Faye Hall: Pam, the song House of Peace is on Steve’s Burning Ember album.
